Ravens back out of Maxx Crosby trade, Raiders announce...
Maxx Crosby won’t be heading to Baltimore after all. The Ravens backed out of their trade agreement for the star pass rusher, the Las Vegas Raiders announced Tuesday evening. The Raiders did not explain why the Ravens backed out, and said they would have “no further comment at this time.” According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Ravens backed out of the agreement due to medical reasons. Baltimore wasn’t ready to assume the risk of Crosby’s surgically-repaired knee. Crosby underwent meniscus surgery in January after being shut down for the last two games of the Raiders’ season. Crosby, a Colleyville Heritage product, has been highly sought after this offseason. He had reportedly been a target of the Dallas Cowboys in their hunt to improve their historically bad defense. The Raiders were reportedly set to receive two first-round picks from the Ravens in the Crosby trade. One of those picks was the 14th overall selection in next month’s NFL draft. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys were willing to offer a first- and second-round pick to the Raiders for Crosby, but Las Vegas opted for the Ravens’ selections. The 28-year-old Crosby had 10 sacks last season and has reached double digits four times in his seven seasons. The Cowboys have been busy to start free agency. They notably agreed to a trade for pass rusher Rashan Gary on Monday. Dallas is expected to send a 2027 fourth-round draft pick to the Green Bay Packers for Gary’s services.
