CLEVELAND, Ohio — Dozens of Northeast Ohio school districts are canceling classes for Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, as concern grows about extremely cold conditions in the region. The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures will be around 12 degrees at 6 a.m. Friday, but steady winds around 13 mph and gusts over 30 mph will make it feel much colder. The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory for all of Northeast Ohio from 6 a.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Saturday, warning that wind chills could fall as low as 15 degrees below zero.
