Magnitude 5.5 earthquake reported in Nevada...
A magnitude 5.5 earthquake was reported near Silver Springs, Nevada, on Monday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was initially reported as magnitude 5.7, but was downgraded to 5.5, USGS said. The earthquake occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time at a depth of about 6 miles, according to the agency. USGS said the epicenter was about 11 miles southeast of Silver Springs, Nevada, in Lyon County. Silver Springs is a little over 60 miles southeast of Reno. There have been no immediate reports of damage.
