You need to equip tools in Hollow Knight: Silksong. These important items do not activate automatically, and because you can only have a limited number equipped at once, you’ll need to way your options. Here’s how to equip tools and some other tips to help your journey. How to equip tools Sit on a bench to equip tools in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Once you’re resting on a bench, open the inventory and navigate to the Crest tab. Highlight the tool you want to equip and press the on-screen button beside Equip Tool (A on Xbox controller). The tool will be equipped in the yellow slot on the Crest. At the start of Silksong, you might only have one tool such as the Compass. As the game progresses, you will collect more and will need to decide what you want equipped at a given moment. With limited slots, you’ll need to make some tough decisions. The good news is you can swap and change whenever you want, provided you’ve found a bench.
