Fox to acquire Roku for around $22 billion...
Fox Corporation has announced a deal with notable television and film streaming platform Roku to acquire the latter in a deal expected to work out to about $22 billion dollars. The deal is will be paid in cash and Fox Class A common stock and is expected to close in the first half of 2027. Fox announced the details of the Roku Acquisition deal via a press release on its investor relations website. The deal would see Fox acquire Roku at around $160 per share. Once the deal is completed, Fox intends to continue Roku streaming services and content, with the addition of utilizing Roku’s alleged network base of “100 million global streaming households” to platform the distribution of Fox content, including sports, news, and entertainment. Roku stock started the day at around $143.90 per share, dipping on the initial announcement before rebounding a bit to around $141 to $142. The company had been floating for many of its financial quarters on beating revenue expectations, but often reporting losses in EPS.
