Ex-Prince Andrew Arrested on His Birthday on Suspicion of Misconduct—Report...
Police have arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, on suspicion of misconduct in public office, the BBC reports. "Police have opened an investigation into an offence of misconduct in public office," Thames Valley Police said in a statement at 10:03 a.m. local time (5:03 a.m. ET). "A man in his sixties from Norfolk has been arrested and remains in police custody. As per national guidance we will not name the arrested man." Several police cars and officers arrived at his Wood Farm home on the royal Sandringham estate, photos published by the Daily Telegraph and Metro showed. Officers arrived shortly after 8 a.m. local time (3 a.m. ET) on Thursday—Mountbatten-Windsor’s 66th birthday—the outlets said. The latest Jeffrey Epstein files to be released appear to show the former prince forwarded sensitive information to the convicted sex offender. Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing. Newsweek contacted Norfolk Constabulary, the local police force, which did not immediately comment on the reports. This is a breaking story; updates to follow.
