A passenger airliner struck a firefighting vehicle on a runway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Sunday evening, forcing the closure of the airport for an investigation. The plane struck a Port Authority firefighting vehicle responding to a separate incident, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said in a statement. The incident took place about 11:40 p.m. and involved a Jazz Aviation flight operating on behalf of Air Canada, the statement said.
