Airplane collides with truck at New York’s LaGuardia Airport...

An Air Canada plane has collided with an airport fire rescue truck upon landing on Runway 4 of the international airport late Sunday night. At the time the jet was landing, the emergency vehicle was crossing the runway. According to Flightrader24, the plane struck ​the vehicle at a speed of about 24 miles ​per hour. The vehicle received clearance from the control center to cross the runway before quickly being asked to stop, though it’s unclear if the airplane had been cleared to land. About a dozen vehicles have been deployed in response to the collision, though no reports have been made about the specific number of passengers injured. The U.S. ​Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop for all planes at LaGuardia until 0530 GMT, and planes have been diverted to other airports or returned to their point of origin after the crash.
